Angie Soto is a 15 year old girl an the meister of Ryo Hunter, a double-headed axe death weapon. She is in fact, the daughter of Joe Buttaki however chooses to go by her mother's last name. Angie can be easily identified by the white streak in her hair, as wel as wearing a dark grey hoodie.

Other than being a meister to Ryo, Angie is also trained in hand-to-hand combat. This type of combat involves Angie removing her hoodie and using a special type of martial arts that attacks the pressure points of the human body.


Angie is somewhat cocky and seems to also be very stubborn at times. Her apathetic attitude, mixed with Ryo's over flirtatous personality seem to be the heroic flaw of the two.

Her past is considered a mystery and is only revealed by smal clues Angie gives off. However it is known that Angie lived with her mother and never met her true father. When she was about ten, her mother was affected by "black blood", yet it was much too powerful for her mother to control, thus resulting in her death.

This caused Angie to set off in search of her biological father and also Medusa, the woman whom created black blood. On this search, Angie comes across a orange-haired boy, who is training on a tree nearby. When she questions the boy, he simply is appaulled that a "fair-maiden" is travelling alone. Angie, annoyed by his behavior walks away. The boy insists he stays with her to protect her from the dangers of the forest.

Soon after, Angie and the boy are attacked by local bandits. The two work together to defeat them and then decide to join together as partners. The boy reveals his name as Ryo Hunter and the fact he is able to transform into a weapon, the two-headed axe.

The two decide to transfer into Death Weapon Meister Academy and soon meet the other students.
